Taking your dog to Norway
The import
regulations are issued by Mattilsynet (Norwegian Food Safety Authority,
www.mattilsynet.no).
For the dogs from EU-countries, a confirmed rabies vaccination and an
authorised veterinary passport
is required, as well is identification by a microchip or clearly readable
tattoo.
Dogs must have had tapeworm (echinococcus) treatment with an appropriate
dosage of
medicine containing e.g. praziquantel maximum 10 days before arriving
Norway.
This treatment must also be repeated within 7 days of arrival.
Both treatments, including the name and dosage of the medicine, must
be certified in the pet passport.
When bringing
a dog into Norway, customs should be notified when crossing the border.
